“If you find me not within you, you will never find me. For I have been with you from the beginning of me.” Jalaluddin Muhammad Rumi popularly known as Rumi, the greatest mystic poet of Islamic literature was born in Balkh (present-day Afghanistan) on September 30′ 1207 and died on 17 December 1273 in the city of Konya in Turkey where he is buried. The epitaph on his shrine reads: ‘When we are dead, seek not our tomb on this earth, but find it in the hearts of men.’ Revered as a great poet and spiritual master, his musings on life, love, Sufi thought and the mysteries of our universe are loved by many.

Muhammad Yunus Sethi

(1st April 1922 – 7th December 2006)

Born in the famous SETHI family, one of the oldest trading merchants of Peshawar with operations throughout India, Afghanistan, Central Asia, and beyond in the nineteenth and early twentieth century,  the impact of historical and cross-cultural civilizations was evident in his demeanor. His nom de plume ‘Wafa’ is a manifestation of the continuity of this tradition. Besides trade, the Sethis’ of Peshawar are renowned for their philanthropy and service to religion and education.
